If you love the sound of cicadas, the jungle, hilly terrain, vast open space, paddy fields and no throngs of noisy tourists, affordable hotel, then, Kampong Tok Senik Resort Langkawi may be just the right place for you.
It has a nice swimming pool with views of the paddy fields and kampong houses because it is located at the outskirts of Kuah town and far away from the more lively but noisier Pantai Cenang or the expensive Tanjong Rhu.
We knew about Kampong Tok Senik Resort through my hubby’s ex-colleague because her sister works in the resort. The resort is very much like the Pedu Lake Resort which has been closed down because the Pedu Lake dried up. It has the same kampong style concept and what I like is the distance from each room. So, you are not likely to bump into noisy kids, loud tourists and the hassle and harried bunch of people who can spoil a nice holiday.
We got ourselves two adjoining rooms and the room is big. We practically got ourselves a whole kampong house, with verandah and a view of the sawah padi. Langkawi is somehow very cooling and we didn’t even need to switch on the room aircond.
The room costs only RM140 nett per night so it is really an affordable place to stay. There is no musky smell and the bed sheets and towels are clean. I have stayed at more expensive places which reeks of the previous tenants sweat smell. Ewwsss…
