I have heard so much about Tanjung Aru, Sabah from travel brochures and also hotel leaflets. I thought it is miles and miles of white, powdery beach but it turned out otherwise. It is a nice stretch of beach with food stalls and seafood restaurants. Tanjung Aru is just a few minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu and certainly worth a visit.
We rented a Perodua Myvi on our last night and drove to Tanjung Aru. It was raining cats and dogs. We expected lots of seafood restaurants but it turned out to have only like a few seafood restaurants and those were reserved by Sun Microsystem. So, we rushed back to our car in the heavy rain and went a bit down the road.
And there are lots of warongs selling the same stuffs. Ish, there are like three stalls selling corns, a dozen stalls selling chicken wings and I think you get the gist?
Now, if you wonder why the beach looks brown…..
Because the whole beach is filled with tiny crabs holes. They dig out the sand into tiny balls.
Still, it is worth a trip to Tanjung Aru just to see the sun setting. Remember that the sun starts to set at around 5.30 pm and by 6.30 pm it is almost dark.
Conclusion – Tanjung Aru has nothing much to offer except the sunset. Or did I missed out anything?
Haha, what you saw, itu saja Tg Aru has to offer! You should have gone to Karambunai or Tuaran instead, nicer beaches, and seafood!
Wahh, the last pic so yeng . the beach is much cleaner than batu ferringhi.
I think the nicest stretch of beach with crystal clear water would be the coast near the northern tip of Borneo, Kudat although there are no food stalls along the way. However, if you just want to enjoy the sand & water, that should be the palce to be
Last photo is nice.. the sky
